Methodology

How we research Irish heritage and cultural visits.

Our Editorial Philosophy

A useful cultural visit depends on your interests, available time and access needs. We use cited sources to explain historical context and practical arrangements.

How We Assess Visits

Recommendations consider these criteria and explain their limits:

  1. 1

    Trip fit

Match cultural interests, available time and the visitor decision the guide addresses.

  2. 2

    Scope

Check what a ticket, pass or service includes, including stated restrictions.

  3. 3

    Season and availability

Distinguish announced plans from current live availability.

  4. 4

    Evidence

Cite factual claims and identify unsupported or uncertain details.

What We Don't Rank By

Understanding what we explicitly exclude matters for trust.

  • ✗Affiliate commission rates
  • ✗Paid placement
  • ✗Invented visits
  • ✗Unverified guarantees

Where Our Data Comes From

Our guides draw on named sources, with priority given to official historical and visitor information:

  1. 1. Heritage bodies and museums

Official historical context, collections and visitor information

  2. 2. Tourism offices and operators

Local destination context, opening arrangements and booking terms

  3. 3. Attributed reporting

Published context with an identifiable source and date

Handling Uncertainty

When a source doesn't confirm a detail, the guide says so and points you to the operator page to check. We'd rather be clear about what is published than guess.
